HAND DRAWN

Hedgehogs are wild creatures that have perfectly adapted to urban areas much like humans, this project's concept was to revere that process for humans by allowing them to be reintroduced to a natural setting.

This was a study into construction in remote locations with limited resources. The design took inspiration of primitive prehistoric architecture. It partially used a cave like structure for insulation and ease of construction, it also used materials that could be easily carried or found near the site.

The building served a dormitory and resting area for hikers and for this reason it was strategically located in a fork where many different famous tracks meet in the West Coast of New Zealand's Northern Island.

The project was entirely made by hand and it intended to enhance the experience of adventuring through the coast land while also providing comfort for the occupants.
